Before You Call
Sometimes a garage door issue looks serious but ends up being something small you can fix yourself.
Here are a couple of quick things to check before scheduling a service call.
Misaligned Sensors
If your door won’t close and the opener light keeps blinking, the safety sensors are probably misaligned.
Make sure both sensors at the bottom of the tracks are pointing straight at each other and that nothing is blocking them.
A small bump, a broom handle, or even sunlight at the wrong angle can throw them off.
Once they’re aligned, the door should close normally again.
Remote Control Problems
If your remote suddenly stops working, try replacing the battery.
Most garage door remotes use a small coin‑cell battery, and they can die without warning.
Swap in a fresh one and make sure the contacts inside the remote are clean.
If the wall button works but the remote doesn’t, it’s almost always the battery.
